Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

At Barrick Family Chiropractic we can provide personalized care throughout your pregnancy as well as after. Dr. Barrick has received specialized training with perinatal care, and can help alleviate and even prevent common pains and problems associated with pregnancy. In doing this we give you and your baby a better chance for a smooth, safe birth.

Chiropractic care is just one of the many safe and effective treatments that can help prepare the mother’s body for the experience of pregnancy and child birth. There are specialized adjustment methods to accommodate pregnancy.  At Barrick Family Chiropractic, we have special adjusting tables that will allow a woman to lie on her stomach even days before delivery (and do they ever love that! Most don’t want to get off the table!) Many of the women that choose to receive chiropractic care during their pregnancy find that it helped them use little to no pain medications throughout their delivery. There are also studies finding that receiving regular care can help reduce labor time.  According to obstetricians, one of the most common causes for a stalled labor and C-sections, is a misaligned pelvis, not allowing the baby to exit the canal. This is where the expertise of a chiropractor is invaluable. We adjust and maintain the proper alignment of the pelvis during the pregnancy, which can eliminate that problem for a faster and easier delivery. Dr. Barrick has helped hundreds of patients over the years during pregnancy, and now has many of these “baby’s” who are now teenagers as patients.  He likes to joke with them, telling them “he knew them before they were born” 🙂

What If My Baby Is Breech?  Can Chiropractic Help?

The answer is YES!  Dr. Barrick has been formally trained and certified in the Webster Technique.  The Webster Technique is a safe and gentle method to allow the baby to naturally turn into the normal position for a normal delivery.  Dr. Barrick has been successful in having many baby’s turn from a breech position and the mom experiencing a normal delivery.
